The 2004 Tour de France promises to be the most closely-watched, captivating athletic event of the year, as USPostal and Lance Armstrong go for a 6th consecutive Tour win.  In response to heavy demand to ride the routes and view the Tour 'live', we are excited to present 4 tours which will coincide with key stages of the 101st anniversary of the Tour de France; three in the French Alps and one in the Pyrenees.

July 4-18:  Pyrenees Classic:  Arrive Pau, France on July 3 (early arrival) or July 4.  Depart from Pau  July 18.  See the action on the climb of the Col du Tourmalet, finishing at La Mongie on 7/16.

Our three French Alps tours will follow the same itinerary and stay in the same hotels, all with multiple route-options each day.  All three tours feature prime viewing of a potentially pivotal Stage of the Tour.  Our Petite version will feature the easier route options and a slower pace.  The Classic version will emphasize the harder, longer routes, and a more aggressive pace.  The French Alps à votre choix will emphasize both the easy and the challenging routes, and provide the best options for viewing the Tour

July 10-24:  Petite French Alps:  Arrive Geneva, Switzerland on July 9 (early arrival) or July 10 and depart Geneva on July 24.  See the Tour de France on July 22 from the Col du Forclaz or Col du Croix Fry, or the Stage finish at Le Grand Bornand

July 12-26:  French Alps à votre choix:  Arrive Geneva on July 11 (early arrival) or July 12 and depart Geneva on July 26.  Choose your challenge level, à la Petite or Classic. View the Tour on July 22 from Col de la Madeleine, Col de Tamie, or Col du Forclaz.

July 14-28:  French
Alps Classic:  Arrive Geneva on July 13 (early arrival) or July 14 and depart Geneva on July 28. View the 15k Time Trial on l'Alpe d'Huez on 7/21 and the July 22 Stage start in le Bourg d’Oisans, or from the Col du Glandon on 7/22.

The price will be $2900 per person, based on double occupancy.  Guaranteed single room occupancy (limited availability) will subject to $500 supplement.  If you are traveling alone and are willing to share a room with an appropriate roommate, and we are unable to fill the spot, you will not be subject to the $500 single supplement.

Itinerary details will be published in early November; however, the scope and spirit of our Tour de France tours will be similar to our 2003 tours, which you can view on our website.   The race route details can be viewed on the Tour website:  www.letour.fr
